Checking/Body Contact is a vital skill that can be taught and developed throughout a player's career. There are three parts to checking: physical ability, technical skills and ethical judgment. Developing sound checking skills is a necessity for all players. Our checking curriculum is second to none. The proper way to check is: the safe way, the efficient way and the controlled way. We preach confidence with our athletes and they will leave this program not only educated but feeling great about themselves and their physical game.
Athletes will learn how to win one on one puck competition by using positioning, contact and other techniques in competing drills and combat games. Athletes will learn specific skill sets and will practice the application in game situations.
